Why scrub a lot of cookware after eating when great recipes can be prepared in just one pot? Hearty, rich, and, above all, uncomplicated – that’s how we love our vegetarian stew!
Vegetarian stew – recipes for every taste
Particularly creamy with coconut milk or cream, or do you prefer spring-fresh with lots of seasonal vegetables? Whether bean stew, carrot stew, potato stew, lentil stew, minestrone, mixed vegetable stew, or exotic curry – everyone will find a vegetarian stew to suit their personal taste.
A good base
The broth is always essential for a delicious classic stew. With a vegetarian stew, of course, vegetable broth comes first, which you can easily make yourself. In the fast kitchen, we like to use instant broth. When dissolved in hot water, the other ingredients cook in it for a particularly spicy taste.
You can also prepare a vegetarian stew on a tomato basis, by using strained or chunky tomatoes, or, as in Asian cuisine, with coconut milk.
Vegetarian stew – the perfect mix of ingredients
Which vegetables belong in your stew? Help yourself to the wide range of market stalls and buy what’s currently in season. Potatoes, pasta, or rice taste great as a filling component. You can optimally cover your protein requirements in the stew with legumes such as peas, chickpeas, beans, and lentils, or tofu. Above all, the combination of the various ingredients ensures that your body is optimally supplied with nutrients.
Topping ideas
While the stew is simmering on the stove, you can clean up the worst of the cooking mess. If there is still time, you can arrange a sophisticated topping for your vegetarian stew. Roasted nuts and kernels and fresh chopped herbs are delicious and go well with almost all recipes. A yogurt dip, on the other hand, tastes particularly good with tomato and very spicy stews.
